We hold classes, workshops and performances on top of Dali’s ancient wall just behind our guesthouse. With the view of Dali and the lake, and the backdrop of the magnificent CangShan Mountains, it’s a great place to relax and watch the entertainment or get involved.

Some things, like painting and music, don’t need language. But we love to see travellers and locals meet and make friends in the space we’ve created. So we thought up some ways to make it easier, and to share a little of the local culture.

• English corner and Chinese corner for language exchange
• Day trips around the valley to buy local food and learn to cook it
• Teach us your favourite dish and eat for free
• Try our selection of Chinese teas, and learn about them from our local expert
• Visit farming villages home to Yunnan coffee (not to be missed for all the tea in China)
